We are FIRST robotics Team 1566, the Ammoknights, started in 2005 by Curtis Thomas and Richard Anderson.

FIRST is a worldwide robotics program that encourages kids and teens to reach their full potential in STEM by issuing robotics challenges and running competitions annually.

The AmmoKnights foundation laid by the dedicated mentors allowed FIRST Team 1566 to become an instrumental part in the development of robotics throughout the Idaho Falls community, spreading the FIRST message and helping to teach others about robotics. Partnered with The Community Youth Action Center, we actively work together to build a robot that will complete the task given by FIRST each year at kick-off in January.

Our team will usually take our robot to compete in Boise with other FIRST teams from near and far. We have students from Hillcrest, Bonneville, Compass Academy, Technical Careers High School, Emerson Alternative, Lincoln alternative, Thunder Ridge High school, Skyline, IF High school,  Rigby, and even Homeschoolers.
